  • 50 g melted butter (for brushing)
  • Kitchen string or toothpicks (to hold the shape)

Savory Filling – Option 1: Cheese & Ham

  • 100 g grated cheese (Emmental, mozzarella, etc.)
  • 2 slices of ham, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche
  • A pinch of pepper

Savory Filling – Option 2: Ground Meat & Spices

  • 150 g ground meat
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  1. Prepare the Filling
    • Option 1 (Cheese & Ham): Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
    • Option 2 (Ground Meat): Sauté the onion in olive oil, then add the ground meat, spices, and cook for 5 minutes. Add parsley and let it cool.
  2. Assemble the Bricks
    • Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each brick sheet.
    • Roll the sheet into a tight tube or cylinder, keeping the filling centered.
    • Twist the ends like a candy wrapper and secure them with kitchen string or toothpicks.
  3. Cooking
    • 🟢 Pan-frying: Heat a bit of oil in a pan and fry the bricks for about 2 minutes on each side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
    • 🔥 Oven-baking: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F), place the bricks on a baking tray, brush with melted butter, and bake for 10–15 minutes until crispy.
