Ingredients

  • 7 sheets of Samsa Elgamra brick pastry
  • 250 g of peeled shrimp
  • 150 g of grated cheese (Gruyère, mozzarella, or feta to your taste)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • A pinch of sweet chili powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Oil for frying

Preparation Steps

  1. Preparing the filling:
    • Heat the olive oil in a pan.
    • Add the onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
    • Add the shrimp, paprika, sweet chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
    • Remove from heat, add the grated cheese and parsley. Mix well and let it cool.
  2. Preparing the bricks (Samosa):
    • Cut the Samsa sheets (Samosa sheets) lengthwise according to the desired width of the strips.
    • Place a spoonful of filling on the edge of the strip.
    • Fold the corner of the strip to form a small triangle, then continue folding the rest of the strip into triangles until the end of the strip.
    • Brush the final fold with a little beaten egg to seal it properly.
  3. Frying:
    • Heat some oil in a pan.
    • Fry the bricks (Samosa) for about 2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
    • Drain on paper towels.
